Themes of the Visits
The Museum’s Bestiary
The Jules Chéret Fine Arts Museum invites you to observe and analyze how animals are depicted in their natural or domestic environments through its collections, broadening this approach to the notion of the environment.
Colors and Materials
Through its collections, the Fine Arts Museum offers a journey through art history, showcasing the various artistic mediums used over time.
Discovering the Museum
This tour provides an introduction to the museum world through the example of the Jules Chéret Fine Arts Museum. This former Belle Époque villa, commissioned in 1878 by a Ukrainian princess, was later sold and inhabited by the American couple Mr. and Mrs. Thomson, who hosted lavish parties there. Purchased by the City of Nice in 1926, it was transformed into the Fine Arts Museum, inaugurated in 1928. Within the museum’s spaces, we will discover its various characteristics and the professions found within it.
Mythology
Thanks to its diverse collections, the Jules Chéret Fine Arts Museum offers a journey through time! The 19th-century paintings and sculptures with ancient inspirations will allow students to discover the heroes of Greco-Roman mythology.
